We handle a variety of different tasks worldwide. We often work together with national and international organizations and local partners.

WIPO & IFRRO Learning Materials

Tarja has written several publications for WIPO and IFRRO. These learning materials that are often translated to numerous languages and periodically updated provide a large audience with easy access to information on copyright, related rights and collective management. Publications such as ”Educational Material on Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights” and ”Collective Management of Text and Image-based Works” are examples of these.

Mari and Tarja have updated the course materials for several WIPO Distance Learning Courses on collective management of copyright and related rights for different stakeholder groups for the WIPO Academy. The distance learning program provides worldwide access to online courses. Each distance learning course is designed to build and reinforce specific knowledge and skills through clear learning outcomes.

Different types of learning materials can be produced either individually or in collaboration with other authors. They are a way for us to disseminate information and knowledge we have been priviledged to gather over the years.

European Union Studies

OK Consulting worked together with Visionary Analytics and other partnering organizations on an EU study on copyright in distance education and research. The study examines the role of copyright when cultural, educational and research institutions provide remote access to digital materials for the purposes of education and research. The final report was published by the European Commission in December 2025.

.

We also worked on an impact assesment and legal study on selected issues relating to the application of the Collective Rights Management Directive. Mari was the Key Legal Expert concentrating on analyzing national implementing legislations, Tarja served as a member of the Adviosry Committee. The final report was published by the European Commission in November 2021.

These are examples of projects we have done as part of a bigger consortium. A pool of experts from different fields that work together are able to provide information on different aspects of important issues. We are happy to participate in consortiums or informal groups of people and organizations and bring our expertise and experience to use.

Training Programs with NORCODE and Its Partnering Organizations

Inger Dirdal of NORCODE, Tarja and Mari together with Bakalanga Mahoko, Chairperson of COSBOTS, Botswana.

OK Consulting worked in long-term cooperation with the Norwegian Copyright Development Association (NORCODE). Together conducted a number of training programs in numerous countries including several regional training programs encompassing several countries in Africa and Asia as well as trainings on good governance. NORCODE has partnered with the international and regional copyright organizations CISAC, IFPI, IFRRO, SCAPR and ARIPO in many of the trainings.

The training programs received very good evaluations from the participants and partnering organizations. During the trainings the participants have not only gained more expertise but also formed invaluable networks of experts accross continents. These have proven to be extremely useful and added to the long-term positive effects of the activities.

Long-term business partnerships are built on mutual trust and respect for the partners’ knowledge and expertise, delivery and performance.
